Which file you get
The OBJ bundle includes colour, roughness, metallic and normal maps as plain PNGs, so they load into either a Standard or a Redshift PBR material.
Step by step
Import a VMrender model into Cinema 4D
- 1
File → Open → model.obj.
- 2
Create a new Standard or Redshift PBR material.
- 3
Color → model_albedo.png, Roughness → model_roughness.png, Reflectance/Metallic → model_metallic.png, Normal → model_normal.png.
- 4
Apply the material to the mesh.
Questions
Cinema 4D questions, answered
Standard or Redshift — which should I use?+
Either. The same four maps load into both; Redshift just gives you a richer render. The channel names are identical.
See it open cleanly in Cinema 4D.
Download the free sample and test it in Cinema 4D. When it fits, buy a pack and turn your own product photos into models.
