Which file you get

V-Ray runs inside a host app, so you import the OBJ into 3ds Max, SketchUp, Rhino or Maya, then build a VRayMtl. The bundle's colour, roughness, metallic and normal maps are standard PNGs that slot straight into the VRayMtl channels.

Import a VMrender model into V-Ray

    Import model.obj into your V-Ray host (3ds Max, SketchUp, Rhino or Maya).

    Create a new VRayMtl and apply it to the mesh.

    Diffuse map to model_albedo.png.

  4. 4

    Reflection Glossiness to model_roughness.png (enable 'Use roughness'), Metalness to model_metallic.png.

    Bump map to model_normal.png, set the map mode to Normal.
